Anonymity Statement

11th Tradition

“Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio and films.”

Thus, we respectfully ask that our group members and other A.A. members not be photographed, videotaped, or identified by full name on audiotapes or in any published or broadcast reports of our meetings, including those reports on the Internet or other new media technologies.

 

Privacy

Our group does not subscribe to any website analytics or tracking of data for any purpose.  We do not share member contact information and will distribute event lists privately.

 

Online Meeting Guidance

How should I identify?

Our meeting participants shall enter our online meeting using their first name and, or last initial only. 

Example:

“John D’ or Jane D.” or simply “Jane’ or John.”

 

Why is my phone number masked?

It is our group conscience that we mask our meeting attendees phone number.  This respects your confidentiality as well as our privacy.

 

Should I use my video camera?

Some members do and some do not. It is a personal choice.  However, we suggest if you have privacy concerns, you can disable your video.

 

When should I join the meeting?

Anytime before 7:00AM or before 8:00AM. Tradition Early cups policy has been the following:

“Arive when you can, leave when you must. Different schedules for different folks.”

 

Should I be on mute when I join?

When you sign on your mic is already muted. You may unmute your mic before and after the meeting.

When the meeting starts the host will mute everyone’s microphone.

If you are called upon by a host or meeting chair to read literature, qualify or share the host will unmute your mic. Please do not unmute your mic during the meeting unless you are ask to.

 

IMPORTANT!

Anyone attending our meeting.

Please remember the microphone system is voice activated. So if there is background noise or if someone talks out of turn everyone will hear it.

We ask you to be mindful for we do not want to diminish anyones meeting experience.

Please keep all inflammatory comments to yourself.

Traditions Statement

Our A.A. Group wishes to adhere to all Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Early Cup of Sobriety desires to provide an traditional meeting experience conducted in a respectful and safe manner for all it’s guest and members.

We suggest that there shall be me no chatting at the private and group levels. This is to ensure that the meeting does not get interrupted with coordinated attacks by “Zoom bombers.”

This is also to ensure that chatting does not disturbs other members or guests attending the meeting,

It is our aim to provide all those who attend our meeting with the best and safest meeting experience possible.

 

Family members and guests are welcome attend our open anniversary meeting on the last Friday of the month.

 

7th Tradition

Although there are no dues or fees…

Our 7th tradition states, “Every AA group ought to be self-supporting, declining outside contributions.”

While contributions cover each group’s rent and other expenses, the 7th tradition is essential at every level of the AA service structure.

10th Tradition

According to the 10th tradition.

“Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the AA name ought never be drawn into public controversy.”

12th Tradition

In keeping with the 12th Tradition, a word on Anonymity.

  Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities. Therefore, “Who you see or hear here, what you hear here, please let it stay here when you leave here.”
